Madeleine Hobern
Architectural Assistant- Part 1
BA (Cantab)
Madeleine joined Richard Griffiths Architects in 2023 after graduating from the University of Cambridge, studying Architecture (BA). In her final undergraduate project, Madeleine chose to inhabit the site of Flint Castle, North Wales in an attempt to reconcile the divides identified between town, castle and landscape. Enthusiastic about the opportunity for conserving, reusing and adapting our existing architectural fabric, she is currently working as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant alongside volunteering as a committee member at Women in Architecture UK, managing events and public outreach.
Her portfolio includes a number of projects at different scales and stages in the context of conserving and caring for land and buildings of historical significance. Since joining RGA, Madeleine has worked on Tower Hamlets Town Hall, St Anne’s College, Oxford, the refurbishment of the North Hall Gallery at the Horniman Museum, in addition to various Conservation Management Plans including the Grade I listed medieval St George’s Guildhall, King’s Lynn and Wakehurst Place, Sussex.
